Some files don't show up

Only folders you granted are indexed. Add more in Settings › Indexing, or from the menu bar icon.
Hidden files, the contents of apps and packages, and excluded folders such as node_modules are skipped by default. Change this in Settings › Indexing, then choose Apply and Rebuild Index.
Folders protected by macOS (Mail, Messages and other apps' data) need Full Disk Access in System Settings › Privacy & Security.

The shortcut doesn't open the window

Another app may already use ⌘⇧Space. Pick a different shortcut in Settings › General. To use ⌘Space, first turn off the Spotlight shortcut in System Settings › Keyboard › Keyboard Shortcuts › Spotlight.

Files in iCloud Drive or OneDrive

Files whose content is only in the cloud are listed with ☁ next to their size. Opening or previewing one downloads it, as in Finder.
